Hi I’m Lisa, thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my website and business. I genuinely appreciate it more than you know. I wanted to use this first blog post to introduce myself properly, so you know exactly whose hands you're putting yourself in!
I’m a 40-something, multi award-winning male and female intimate waxing specialist and waxing trainer. I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2007, after making a complete career change. My journey started in a spa which, if I’m honest, didn’t quite light me up the way I’d hoped. Seven hours of massage a day was exhausting and not the fulfilling path I’d envisioned. The treatments were mostly about pampering and relaxation, but every now and then, we’d get asked for waxing services… and I’ll admit, the lack of consistent experience scared me silly.
So I decided to grab the bull by the horns, had a stern word with myself, and enrolled in an advanced intimate waxing course. To my surprise, I had quite the knack for it! The lovely lady who trained me ended up offering me a job, and that’s where my waxing journey really began.
Since then, I’ve taken further advanced training with Lycon and Axiom and in 2012 I decided to go solo. I started out renting spaces in other salons, steadily growing my business, skills and reputation. Then, in February 2021 (right in the middle of the second lockdown), I took the HUGE leap and opened my own salon. We renovated the space and finished just in time to reopen and it’s where I’m still based today. I now work alongside the lovely Vita, my amazing employee and right-hand woman, who has been a total godsend in helping me look after our ever-growing client base.
Why Do I Do This?
Well, despite what some people cheekily ask, it’s not because I enjoy causing discomfort (I promise I’m not that mean!). It’s quite the opposite. I’m here to show people that waxing doesn’t have to be terrifying. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about, it doesn’t need to be excruciating, and it doesn’t have to take forever.
I’ve been told that as well as being a bloody good waxer, my superpower is making people feel seen, safe, relaxed, reassured, comfortable, and totally unjudged – all while having a good laugh in the process.
What Do I Do When I’m Not Making the People of Norwich (and Beyond) Smooth?
I’m a big fan of travelling and have been lucky enough to explore a fair bit of the world. I love live music, rock gigs are my favourite! And I’ll admit I’m pretty “woo woo”. I get excited about full moons, have a crystal collection that could rival most shops, and I’m into astrology, meditating, manifesting, and all that delicious spiritual stuff. There’s not much that makes me happier than a day at the beach.
