Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy for Waxx Norwich

We have missed being able to offer you the waxing treatments that you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

The priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening several changes have been implemented at the salon, which will be made aware to you before your visit. During the time the salon has been shut, Waxx Norwich’s owner Lisa Postle, has completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course. This is an accredited course by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. Our aim as always is to offer our clients the best waxing service in Norwich, so as always you can expect hygienic, professional waxing.

Booking Waxing Appointments

If any member of staff feels ill or has symptoms of C0VlD-19, we will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that your appointment will be cancelled at short notice. This may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Visiting the Salon

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, please attend your waxing appointment as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you encounter other clients who are just leaving. We ask that you stay in your car and wait until your appointment time. Please attend your appointment ALONE. No children, partners or friends will be allowed into the salon at this time. Please bring the bare minimum in with you. No big bags etc.

The frequency of cleaning in the treatment room including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client has been increased.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible environmentally, friendly, single use items will be used during a treatment and disposed of safely after use to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to soap, hot water and disposable paper towels to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the salon and we will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon.

If you wish to wear a mask during the treatment that is absolutely fine, just be advised that this may have to be removed depending on the area being waxed. If an area that is covered needs treatment, your PPE will need to be removed.

Your therapist will be using all the required personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / facemasks / aprons where appropriate.

The laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and is washed at 60 degrees C. Each client has a new clean towel and we have a clean uniform daily.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day.

The Waxing Treatments

A risk assessment on all waxing treatments has been carried out and your therapist is confident the treatments can be provided safely.

During A Waxing Treatment

The importance of hand hygiene is paramount, and your therapist will wash their hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

Your therapist will make your waxing treatment as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments, please let your therapist know, so they can reassure on procedures.

All these procedures have been implemented for your safety and ours. Advice will continue to be taken from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend, as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
